Just an old man with lots to declare. I had to research my Residential School experience to bury the hurt at Fort Marion, St. Augustine, Florida. Next I had to research my family history which was hidden from me. My ancestor had 84 forts throughout Canada & helped build Canada with the Northwest Company & amalgamated with the Hudson Bay Company in 1821 becoming a shareholder.

There's a place I dream of going but its hard to get there unless I sell some products.
There are some items on this site which I would like to get for the family, maybe some time soon. My daughter's birthday is fast approaching & I have no idea what she would like, I was thinking about this, what do you think?

Nor'west Loyalist Museum have some new signs in Williamstown, Ontario.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 I thought I would visit the Nor'West and Loyalist Museum but found it was closed. However, I was impressed with the new signage & the new outdoor gazebo. They have made it a place to have a picnic. In case you have not studied up on your history it is also the place of David Thompson's house, you know the famous fur-trade surveyor who worked for my ancestor's company

Summer has begun for these Voyageur descendants!
Teah graduated from LeSommet and will be leaving for college for her Computer Animation & Design. Greg passed to Grade 11 and looking hard for summertime things to do. Arley will be leaving St. Francis Xavier to go to Lesommet grade 10 in the Fall. This is the year both my hockey players have decided to hang up their skates for next hockey season, maybe for good. Greg will give it some consideration during the summer but has developed a liking for softball...hmm.
On another note, sad to say...really broke this father's heart when the verdict was announced before I could make plans to attend...my son, Caleb got 57 years! I hope he appeals this.

It has been a terrible month, my son Caleb aka Kai the Hitchhiker had his month in court with dismal outcome.
As his father I want to thank all his supporters that have been on this roller coaster ride of emotions. It certainly has not been the outcome we anticipated but I encourage everyone to hang on cause this surfer's ride is not over as we try to round up someone who has the knowledge to file Kai's Appeal and hopefully within the time frame allotted.
I promise you I will do my utmost to raise support from politicians, lawyer's and the public on the Canadian side of this fiasco. I have encouraged our politicians to make an application to Extradite Caleb Lawrence McGillivary upon or after his Conviction or Sentencing to relieve the United States taxpayer of the cost of housing my son in a United States penal system. But this would be an admission of guilt. I have not heard any submission of any sort from Kai. I was not in the courtroom to hear the charges. I understand there is a Plea deal that goes on between the Defense Atrorney and the Prosecution's office withe the final outcome decided by the Judge upon Sentencing similar to what our Canadian system of decision would be like under the Criminal Code of Canada. Appeals in Canada are just as lengthy and time consuming. This is a short summary of what I understand. Caleb definitely needs a professional expert to handle this difficult proceeding. I encourage his supporters to send good vibrations along with good prayers for what may be a lengthy procedure.

The colonization and civilization began by the Empire of the Bay 1670 to the present.
Land to settle needed colonizers in the form of explorers, furtraders, settlers and immigrants. Indian territory became the monopoly of the Company of Adventurers who had retained the Charter since 1670.

I knew there were graves and some of us never made it up.
It's terrible when as an adult you never believed us as kids! Look around Residential Schools, you'll find unmarked graves of ones who never made it home.

Finding innovative transportation to get goods & materials to northern communities.
The north is challenging in getting products out there especially for low costs. Landing places are especially hard where there are no docks. This might be a solution for logistics.

Caleb McGillivary otherwise known as "Kai the Homeless Hitchhiker has a court date scheduled!
The court date is April 2nd, 2019. It has been 6 long years. My hope & prayers go out to him, as a father I do love him & miss my son greatly. This photo is old, he has been in & out of our family for so long, it breaks my heart the years he has missed. I blame Indian Residential School history for this.

My experience with Residential School in Saskatchewan for 5 years, excluding the Sexual abuse.
I was forced to attend Prince Albert Indian Residential School in 1962-1967 not knowing why I had to be separated from my loved ones. I grew up wondering why. Many years later before I got the Compensation package I had found out it was as I regress was because Charles Davin (a Regina Editor) was commissioned by Sir John A. McDonald to find a low cost effective way to keep the Treaty promises that was needed to build the National Railway from "sea to shining sea". Mr. Davin had to find out about an Indian Program which he had heard about in the United States which was run by a Captain Richard Henry Pratt at Carlyle, Pennsylvania.
I have been to Fort Marion, St. Augustine, Florida with my family when I received Compensation & without any Aboriginal Healing Foundation assistance to heal my memories of "Kill the Indian Save the Man" by Richard Henry Pratt who bought 72 Prisoners of War from the Midwest plains wars especially Geronimo's family but he went to Fort Pickering approximately 62 miles away.

Repatriated items to family collection
I apologize for the hiatus because it has taken sometime for me to locate these items. Additionally, I've had a change of mind regarding Hudson Bay Company because of the information I've learned. It is therefore imperative to me to work with them.

Seems to be another Rodney.
Digging for Roots: Old Photos
It's probably time that you met Martha (Dool) Brown since we have been talking so much about her in these Digging For Roots boxes. Martha was born in Canada West in 1842, just a year or two after her Mother and Father came to Oxford-on-Rideau Township from Taylorstown in Northern Ireland. She married Robert Brown on June 10th in 1879, at the late age of 37. She still managed to raise four children before she died in 1917. She must have been very proud of the fact that her husband was one of the stone masons who built the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa.

I'm taking this Ancestral Digging for your roots class & found this on their site. @rodneybrown

Asking for Canadians NOT to buy the War of 1812 Canadian Mint.
I am asking Canadians to Boycott the purchase the these Commerative Canadian Mint productions which is not exactly shown on my picture; cause, this picture would have been more appropriate & respectful towards the NorthWest Company which helped Canada retain its present day borders. We lost NWCo trade routes which would have been Canadian property through the Treaty of Ghent in 1814. These States would have been part of Canada: Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota & North Michigan because NWCo had trading posts right to the mouth of the Columbia (which was named McGillivray River - by Simon Fraser & David Thompson) & the original map hangs in Toronto, which rightfully belongs to this family & not the University.
